Our diverse and robust glass arts program includes courses in multiple different glass mediums, including mosaics, fused glass, stained glass, blown glass, and glass beadmaking.
Mosaic & Glass Art Classes
Mosaics
To create mosaics, artists assemble small pieces (such as tiles, glass, shells, or stones) into designs that are held together by plaster or mortar. This is an ancient art form, with the earliest known mosaics dating back to the 3rd millennium BCE.
Fused Glass
Create handmade platters, ornaments, bowls, and more! Fused glass involves cutting and arranging compatible glass pieces into specific designs that are then melted together through a kiln firing process.
Blown Glass
Shape molten glass into pumpkins, mushrooms, wine glasses, and more by using a blowpipe, furnace, and other tools. Spruill hosts multiple one-session glassblowing workshops per year but does not currently offer multi-session glassblowing classes.
Glass Beadmaking
Explore the art of lampworking! Work with oxygen and propane to shape and embellish your very own unique flamework glass beads.
Stained Glass
Learn how to cut, arrange, and solder glass pieces together into beautiful stained glass creations.
