Spruill Center for the Arts is expanding! This summer, we will be opening Spruill Studios — a new studio facility in downtown Chamblee focused on providing affordable creative space for artists in metro Atlanta. Set to open in June, Spruill Studios will be housed in the former Chamblee City Hall building on Peachtree Road, in the heart of downtown Chamblee.

Public Access & Visibility
In addition hosting individual studio spaces, Spruill Studios will offer artists increased visibility. The building will feature dedicated gallery space open to the public that will showcase works created by the facility’s artists, and we hope to host open studio tours in tandem with major public events, such as Chamblee’s annual Chalk Walk.

APPLY FOR STUDIO SPACE
Applications for studio space are now open and will be accepted through March 27 at 11:59 PM EDT.
Applications are to be submitted through the Artwork Archive platform (find instructions for setting up a Free Submit Account here) and will require a CV, artist bio, and artist statement alongside the answers to six application questions and no more than six images of your current work. Please find additional details and requirements in the application instructions.
Our panelists will consider applications from visual artists who present thoughtful and dedicated bodies of work in any media and who regularly engage in activities such as exhibitions, public art projects, lectures/symposia, curatorial work, or the writing of critical reviews.
Applicants should live or work in or around the Atlanta/Metro Atlanta area.
Please note that Spruill Studios is unable to accommodate artists whose practices require the use of flammable tools or specialized ventilation requirements, such as glass blowing, kilns, welding, and flammable chemicals.
